"...lend your ears to music, open your eyes to painting, and... stop thinking! Just ask yourself whether the work has enabled you to "walk about" into a hitherto unknown world. If the answer is yes, what more do you want?" -Kandinsky, 1910
Kandinsky some how was way before his time. I find that this quote is especially true today. People are too busy running from event to event, or errand to errand, to enjoy the beauty that surrounds us everyday. To hear and appreciate the sounds of nature, the wind blowing by, the birds singing, or even just looking at the beauty around us. It upsets me to think that children don't go outside and play anymore like we used to. They are inside now on computers all caught up on social networking sites, or chatting with their friends. Why not go outside and play on the playground...
We need to take the time to enjoy the arts, and not only that but enjoy the beauty around us. So take a little time today and enjoy the view around you and the art in your everyday.

Brewery ArtWalk
This past weekend the biannual Brewery Art Walk took place in Los Angles, CA. This event completely blew my mind. Driving up to an old renovated Brewery built up my curiosity of the unknown. All I knew was that it took place in this old Brewery that had been remade to house artists studios that could be rented by various artists and galleries. The space was theirs to create and display their artwork. Walking into the first studio I instantly knew that this was going to be a great event.
With the feeling of walking into a new world over came me every time as I walked into one studio after the next. It was so interesting how each artists used different mediums. Various artists worked in metal, carpet, textiles, paint, printmaking, photography, sculpture using plaster, recycled materials, and much more. Even more inciting was the enthusiasm each artist possessed about talking about their work.
I would HIGHLY recommend this event to any art lover. Another tip, definitely attempt to go both days because there is so much amazing art work and artists to talk to that you will not want to rush through all of them.
